WHY UNCLES ARE THE BEST!

The fun uncle (AKA: Funcle) holds a special place in the hearts of his nieces and nephews. Alongside fathers, uncles are perceived as a positive role model and can offer kids a trusted adult that is involved in their life. Growing up, many people can recall that uncle that made their adolescence a lot more fun. With every generation, the fun uncle (Funcle) continues traditions and engage in the life of their beloved nieces and nephews. Below are just a few reasons why uncles are an important element for the kids as they grow.

Uncles Love Their Nieces & Nephews

Uncles are there to help encourage, support and love your kids, through the good and bad times. They are not offended by messy rooms; poor manners, or even the sometimes dreaded report card. Uncles do not judge, scold, or hold grudges, they love their nieces & nephews unconditionally. Knowing there are other adults, outside their immediate family who care about them and have their backs in life is important to all kids. Uncles can help fill in when parents are held up, whether it is picking them up from soccer practice, cheering them on at their big game, or supporting them at their play or recital. Their presence is always known.

Duties of Uncles as Funcles

Children are made to laugh with their uncle’s antics. Uncles bring out the silly side of your kids from jokes to games and can make the kids squeal in delight, even if they weren’t in the mood earlier. Uncles represent fun and good times and their niece and nephews know it. It is all about fun, games, and roughhousing when kids spend time with their uncle. Whether it is at the games, playing catch in the yard, video games, or trips to the movies, they are there. Also, Uncles do not mind waiting in line at the best ride of the amusement park, they will ride it as many times as the kids want. They won’t ration the snacks and will make sure they have a souvenir afterwards.

Uncles are Nostalgic & Carefree

Their inner child is released when they see the action figures, water balloons, Lego, train sets, or playing catch, building forts or introducing your kids to classic movies. Uncles can be a big kid themselves, which is why the kids can’t get enough of them. In addition, parents have a lot of stress, anxiety, and fears as they raise the kids and tend to be more reserved. Uncles are more carefree and less anxious whether they encourage headfirst down the slide, take the bikes off the beaten path, or make the cannon ball as fierce as possible in the pool. Uncles expose kids to carefree fun and adventure and show them that it is alright to take chances while most parents are more hesitant. Uncles also don’t limit the treats or keep track of the goodie intake. Kids are encouraged to have the second bowl of ice cream, a heaping helping of popcorn, or all the pizza the kids can eat.

Uncles have Hidden Talents & Help Teach Kids

Uncles tend to be more creative to entertain the kids and can turn mundane objects into impressive toys. When it comes to their interests, and your kids’ interests, uncles are all too happy to spread the wealth of knowledge they hold. Making a licorice as a straw, throwing a baseball, playing dodgeball, pitching a tent, riding ATVs, or even skiing, uncles are eager to help teach the kids.

The Role of Uncles is an Important One

When a fun uncle comes to visit, the parents can have a moment to catch their breath and enjoy a little quiet. They can get their energy out of their system along with all of the sillies and even help tucker the kids out, so they sleep better that night. There are so many other reasons as to why children need to have an uncle in their life. Especially in the times we live in, having an uncle they can trust with their secrets, have a good time, and be safe with is well worth the relationship.

Sadly, our Uncle Kyle has been serving a very unfair 30 year prison sentence for a first time offense of a non-violent crime. He has been away from his family for over 12 years already, and we hope and pray that he will not be locked away for another 18 years! HOW YOU CAN HELP

The average sentence in the U.S. for convicted rapists is about 10 years, while the actual time served about 5-6 years.

The average time that a person convicted of Murder does in the United States before initial release is 15 years.

We Love and Miss our Uncle Kyle Kimoto, and we all have had a front seat of the devastation his absence has wrought on his children. We have all tried to come together as a family to support them and each other, and we pray daily that our Uncle Kyle will be able to come home to his family soon.

We pray that Our Uncle Kyle will get to come home soon. We pray that anyone that reads this post will consider writing a letter to the President to ask that he please reduce our Uncle’s unfair 30 year sentence.
